Tivoli is an amusement park in central Copenhagen, just across the street from Central Station. It covers an area of 82 717m ². The park was founded in 1843 by journalist Georg Carstensen (1812-1857), and is built on part of the area that constituted the ramparts and moats around Copenhagen's old fortifications. At that time the area which the installation was and still is on outside Copenhagen vests port. The amusement park was established as a corporation, and many of the shareholders were craftsmen who had been with the construction. Tivoli mix of park environment, concert hall, restaurant options, driving attractions, 25 in number and appearances have been used as a model for several other amusement parks. With over three million visitors a year make up the Tivoli one of the foremost tourist destinations.
