Guinea is a country in West Africa. Formerly known as French Guinea. It forms a crescent as it swings from its western border on the Atlantic Ocean to the east and south, shares its northern border with Guinea-Bissau, Senegal and Mali and the southern border with Sierra Leone, Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire. The sources of the River Niger, Gambia River and Senegal River are all found in the Guinea Highlands.

Conakry is Guinea's capital, largest city and economic center. Guinea's 10 million people belong to noon ethnic groups. It is a predominantly Islamic country, and French is the official language of Guinea

Guinea has four main regions namely Maritime Guinea (La Guinée Maritime), Mid-Guinea (La Moyenne-Guinée), Upper-Guinea (La Haute-Guinée) and Forested Guinea (Guinée forestière).

Guinea's economy is largely dependent on agriculture and mineral production. It is the world's second largest producer of bauxite, and has rich deposits of diamonds and gold.

The people are open and welcoming, and there are good restaurants and many opportunities for great taste sensations.

Beyond an exotic encounter with culture, art and lifestyle of the different tribes in the area, it is right good trips to dive into, if you like great scenery.

The climate in Guinea is hot and sunny and keeps mostly 30 degrees Celsius all year round. Please note the rainy season, which is worst around July, August and September.
