Jordan, officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is an Arab country in the Middle East / West Asia, bordered by Syria to the north, Iraq to the north-east, Israel and the West Bank to the west and Saudi Arabia to the south. The country shares coast of the Dead Sea in the west with Israel, and the coastline of the Gulf of Aqaba in the south of Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The border with Israel is a strong fortified transition at Allenby Bridge that spans the border river Jordan River. The river is the only significant source of water in the country.

The population is mostly Jordanian Arabs. Probably a population of around 1 million Iraqi refugees in Jordan, in addition to the PA. Palestinian Arabs can move to Jordan and citizenship and all rights there. Jordan has since Israel was created received over 1, 8 million Palestinian refugees. These have been given the same rights as the original Jordanians, and currently represent the largest ethnic group in the country. Although refugees civil rights, the trans-Jordanians (from Eastern) dominated political life.

The country's language is Arabic, but many speak very good English.

Jordan is a constitutional monarchy where the king appoints the government, accepting laws and is responsible for foreign policy. Parliament can perform parliamentary power by 2/3 majority.

Tourism contributes 10-12% of GDP, and encouraged by the fact that the country is politically more stable than many other countries in the Middle East. The main point of interest is the ancient rock city of Petra, which is on the list of world's seven new wonders. Like Petra also place Jerash Roman ruins. Nature-based experiences are utilized particularly through desert and mountain hiking, especially in Wadi Rum.
